Enter the SLR

Starting with the lens set at about 24mm, I zoomed in on Mum and her student, Melissa, to 55mm in approximately 1 second. Although they were nearly perfectly still, there is a feel of movement in the shot.

Ah, so now I finally understand how these pictures are taken. One of the things a compact point-and-shoot camera cannot do. ;-)

Introducing my new toy... the Nikon D50 SLR (single lens reflex) camera!

  1. My "old" toy Canon A70 is in hospital and awaiting diagnosis. Not sure whether an upgrade is pending. I like what you are doing with your new toy!
